Cancer biologist · 3D culture systems · translational pediatric research
I am a dedicated cancer biologist with a passion for understanding how tumors evolve, adapt, and resist treatment. My work sits at the intersection of three-dimensional culture biology, cell signaling, and translational oncology — with the goal of building better experimental models that reflect real tumor complexity.
Currently at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, I develop immunocompetent 3D model systems to study neuroblastoma. My research focuses on lineage heterogeneity and how the 3D tumor microenvironment drives cancer cell state transitions — insights that are directly relevant to metastasis and therapeutic resistance in pediatric cancers.
My scientific journey has taken me from the University of Warsaw (BSc & MSc, molecular biology) to a PhD at the University of Cambridge — where I worked on PI3K signaling in prostate cancer progression — to research positions at the Babraham Institute and Harvard Medical School. Across these settings, I have developed strong expertise in molecular pathway biology, 3D culture systems, and cancer cell communication.
Beyond the bench, I am passionate about training the next generation of scientists. I have mentored students at the University of Pennsylvania, organized inclusive conferences, and led early-career researcher initiatives. I enjoy building collaborative, creative lab environments where curiosity is the starting point.
Outside the lab, I spend time with my family, run, knit, cook Polish food for friends, and share my home with a 10-pound dog named Malpa ("monkey" in Polish).
